Ordering OSL Software
Dear OSL Customers:
As of June 1, 2026, the Penn Software Licensing Portal ordering system has migrated to ISC's Helix system.
In early July, you will receive an email from the Office of Software Licensing directing you to place your orders for FY27 using the new ordering system.
To Place a New Order or Renew an Existing Order
The following is a high-level description of the order process within Penn's new Software Licensing Portal, paying particular attention to differences from the current order process.
Click the Order Software link on the left and authenticate with your PennKey.
From the Welcome Screen you can click on the Request Now button to see products available through OSL.
Next, enter the name, email and phone number of your BA or IT Director.
Enter a vaiid 26-digit Penn budget code that will be charged for the order. If the order is for UPHS, you will also enter the Lawson number on this page.
You have the option to place the order for yourself or on behalf of someone else. Note, when you place an order on behalf of someone else, the software and license documents will be sent to whoever you designate by pennkey below. Please, present a pennkey name for each designated user, including yourself. Please only one pennkey per line.
Next, you have the opportunity to provide additional information that might be helpful in the processing of your order. This would include need by date, added attachments and additional information.
Once you have completed the additional information section, you may be asked to read and accept any license usage terms and conditions.
Once you have accepted the license terms you are ready to click on the “Submit Request” button in the upper right hand corner. This will send email confirmations to you and your BA about the order. Note: The BA approval step previously required is not longer part of the new order process.
Note that Absolute, FileMaker, Ghost, and Uniprint are not offered for sale on this site-However, they offered for direct sale by SHI International, a Penn vendor. They are accessible from the Penn Software Licensing Portal via a link to the Penn Marketplace, where orders can be placed through SHI’s punch out site by clicking on the SHI tile in the Supplier Showcase. Purchases through SHI follow the standard order and approval processes supported by BEN and the Penn Marketplace.
